Not yet. The app is finished and in testing, and it is coming soon to the App Store and Google Play, where it is listed as GeoTrackMe: Location Sharing. This site, the user agreement, the privacy policy and the account deletion tools are live already, so you can read every term before anything ships.

No. Your location is shared only with people you send an invitation to yourself, only after they accept, and only while your sharing switch is on. There is no way to look somebody up by email or phone number — the only route in is an invite code that you hand out yourself and can replace at any time. Settings › People who can see me always shows the complete list.

No. Your coordinates are encrypted on your device before they are uploaded, and the key is wrapped individually for each device of each person you approved. What reaches the server is ciphertext, so whoever operates the service — us included — cannot read it.

No. Only your most recent position is stored, and every update overwrites the previous one. There is no trail to browse, export, hand over or lose.

You disappear from every map immediately, and your last known position is removed rather than left frozen where you were. Turning the switch back on starts you from wherever you are then. If you have set someone as a parent, they get a notification either way.

Open their person card, or Settings › People who can see me, and switch them off. They stay on your list and simply stop seeing you; nobody else is affected or told — unless that person is someone you set as a parent, who is notified. Stop sharing ends it completely and replaces your location key.

They can see you once they accept; you cannot see them, and that is deliberate. An invitation only goes one way. If you both want to see each other, you each send an invitation using the other person's code. Two invitations, two approvals — so nobody can be followed by a person they never invited.

Because a password we never hold is a password that cannot leak from us. You sign in with Google, and on iPhone with Apple as well. Your email address is used to identify your account — never as a way for other people to find you.

Generate a new one. The old code stops working immediately, and anybody who tries it gets nowhere. People already on your list are unaffected, because they were approved individually rather than by the code.

That is mostly your choice. The update frequency can be set to 5 seconds, 15 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute, 5 minutes or 10 minutes, and moving from 5 seconds to 1 minute cuts the number of location fixes by a factor of twelve. For all-day reassurance, 5 or 10 minutes is usually plenty.

Yes, provided you grant background location access — Always on iPhone, Allow all the time on Android. On Android, also set battery usage to Unrestricted: some phones put apps to sleep regardless. Settings › Location › Background activity in the app takes you to the right screen; the manual walks through it.

Yes. Both apps use the same accounts and the same encrypted format, so an iPhone and an Android phone can follow each other in either direction with no difference in what they see.

Yes, to download and to use. The free tier shows ads and lets you see one person. Paid tiers raise that to 3, 5 or unlimited and remove the ads; a family plan covers up to 6 accounts with 5 people each. Prices will be published when the app goes live.

No. Sending is always free and unlimited. The limit counts the people you see and is checked when you accept somebody; how many people see your own location is never limited by your plan.

No. A nickname or photo you give a friend is stored on your own device only. It changes how they appear to you and to nobody else, and it is never uploaded.

In the app: Settings › About › Delete Account. Or from the web without installing anything: delete my account. Your profile, friend list, last known location and invite code are removed permanently. A paid subscription is cancelled separately, in the App Store or Google Play.

Yes, always. GeoTrackMe is a sharing app, not a monitoring tool, so the person sharing can stop at any moment. If your child sets you as a parent, you get a notification when they turn sharing off, turn it back on, or remove you as a parent. See Parent notifications.

Create a recovery code while you still have the old phone (Settings › Recovery Code) and enter it on the new one. If both phones are signed in, Switch to this device moves sharing across with one tap. Without a code, the people who share with you need to approve your new device before you can see them again.

Only if they really did set up a new phone or reinstall the app — ask them if you are not sure. Until you approve, that device cannot see your location; their other devices keep working. This is what stops someone who takes over an account from quietly adding a device of their own.

Go to Notifications › Declined and tap Undo. The person can then invite you again. While a rejection stands, they cannot send you another invitation.

To protect location data, the app only runs an unmodified copy from the App Store or Google Play on an unmodified device. Reinstall from the official store and tap Try again. Android phones with an unlocked bootloader or a custom ROM are not supported.

Nine: English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese, Russian and Turkish. The app follows your phone's language and lets you override it without changing your system settings.
